Glorious light

2012: What's the 'real' truth?

I was videotaping dew on mallow petals this morning when I noticed sun reflections in the background, from a small trickling brook. The two clips featured herein show what happened as the reflections moved into a position behind the flower.

In the first clip, it seems as if the flower is on fire, with intense background light appearing above and below the petal, and arcing across the stamens … a true dance of light.

In the second clip, the sun is no longer on the flower itself, but there are some wonderful reflections coming from the water … you’ll notice amazing out of focus blobs drifting across the frame, usually from left to right. Yet another amazing dance of light!
